Data 360: How to Enable Access to Data 360 Reports

Previously, building a Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) report meant using a Custom Report Type. Data 360 now provides a suite of reports to help users monitor data within Data 360; however, accessing these reports requires specific configurations and permissions. This article walks you through the process of enabling access, ensuring that users with appropriate roles can view and utilize these reports seamlessly.

Prerequisites to access Data 360 reports:

  1. The user should have access to Data 360, either with a Customer Data Platform or a Data 360 License.
  2. The user must have an active DMO mapped to a DLO to see the Data 360 option on the left-hand side when creating new reports.
  3. An active DMO mapping is necessary to see the "Create Report" option in the DMO’s Compact Layout or to see the DMO available in reports when clicking on new Data 360 reports.
  4. The user should have Data 360 Reporting enabled in the org.

Steps to enable Data 360 Reporting:

  1. Navigate to Setup.
  2. Search for "Reports and Dashboard Setting" in the Quick Find.
  3. Enable the checkbox "Allow users to enable Data 360 Reporting (Lightning Experience Only)" and click on Save.

Note:

  1. A user with Data 360 access or "Allows user access Data 360/Allows user access Genie Platform" enabled in the permission set will be able to access the Data 360 reports, provided all the above prerequisites are satisfied.
  2. As per Data 360 Reports and Dashboards: Limits and Limitations, users with Salesforce Identity licenses don’t have access to Data 360 reports. If you are unable to access the Reports tab, ask your System Administrator to confirm if your user is assigned a Profile with the Identity user license.
  3. You can only see data in the Dataspaces your user has access to. Please ensure that the data space is added to the Data 360 Standard Permission Sets or any custom permission sets cloned from the standard ones.
