Publiseringsdato: Dec 8, 2025
Beskrivelse

Marketing Cloud (please note this applies to Marketing Cloud Growth/Advanced editions) uses strict checks on phone numbers when sending SMS messages. The only supported format for phone numbers is E164. This format includes only a leading '+' and then the following digits of the phone number.

Example of E164 format:

  • +15554441234

Unsupported formats:

  • 15554441234
  • +1 (555) 444 - 1234

If you are unsure of how the phone numbers for an individual are being stored, you can check the ContactPointPhone DMO in Data Cloud:

  • Open Data Cloud App
  • Open Data Explorer Tab
  • Select the dataspace
  • Select Data Model Object
  • Select ContactPointPhone
  • (Optional) Filter by Individual ID to identify specific users
Løsning

If SMS messages are not being delivered, ensure that the format of the target phone number is saved in the correct format.

If the phone number stored in the ContactPointPhone DMO is not in the correct format review the following:

  • Mapping for the Contact DLO, Account DLO, Lead DLO to validate that your intended source field is being mapped to the field "Telephone Number" field in the ContactPointPhone DMO (see more details in this companion knowledge article here).
  • Validate in the source entry point that phone numbers are being entered in the correct format.
