When SMS messages are sent for Marketing Cloud Next using Segment Triggered Flows, the phone number stored in the field “Telephone Number” (ssot__TelephoneNumber__c) in the Contact Point Phone DMO is used for sending. The field "Formatted E164 Phone Number" (ssot__FormattedE164PhoneNumber__c) in the Contact Point Phone DMO is used for Identity Resolution, Segmentation and is mandatory for mapping. If either of these two fields do not contain a valid phone number at the time of sending, no SMS message will be sent.
Ensure that the phone numbers for your Contacts and Leads are stored in the field that you will use to send SMS messages with Segment Triggered Flows. Once your target field is identified, ensure that this field is mapped to the fields “Telephone Number” and “Formatted E164 Phone Number" in the Contact Phone Phone DMO.
By default, "Business Phone" (Phone__c) for the Contact object, "Phone" (Phone__c) for the Lead object, and "Phone" (Phone__c) for the Account object are mapped to the Contact Point Phone DMO fields “Telephone Number” and “Formatted E164 Phone Number.”
| Object | Field Name in Salesforce Setup Object Manager | Object Field Name in DMO | Field Label in DMO | Field Label to be mapped in the Contact Point Phone DMO |

| Lead | Phone | Phone | Phone__c | Telephone Number, Formatted E164 Phone Number |

If a different phone number field will be used to send SMS messages, the mappings for Contact, Lead and Account Data Streams must be updated to populate the Contact Point Phone DMO with the intended field values.
