Reporting Limitations for Entitlements and Milestones in Salesforce

Customers may notice that certain Entitlement-related fields (such as Entitlement Process Name) are unavailable in Salesforce reports. Additionally, Milestone fields such as Time Remaining and Time Since Target may appear blank in reports, even though values may be visible in the UI or retrievable through SOQL.

This article explains the known reporting limitations for Salesforce Entitlements and Milestones. Not all fields available in Setup are reportable. This limitation exists because certain fields—particularly those derived from Setup objects—are not included in Salesforce’s standard reporting framework.

Additionally, dynamic Milestone fields such as Time Remaining and Time Since Target are calculated in real time and are not stored as static values in the database. As a result, these fields may appear blank in report results.

Solución
When building reports on Entitlement objects in Salesforce, certain reporting limitations apply, particularly for fields derived from Setup objects.
 

Setup Objects and Reporting Limitations

Setup objects in Salesforce contain metadata and configuration settings managed through Setup. These objects support platform functionality but are not part of Salesforce’s standard reporting framework.

Entitlement Process is a Setup object that defines the milestones and business rules used to manage entitlement timelines and support processes.

Because Setup objects are not reportable, fields derived from them—such as Entitlement Process ID or Entitlement Process Name—are not available in standard Salesforce reports.

 

Milestone Reporting Limitations

The following Milestone fields may appear blank in Salesforce reports:

  • Time Remaining (Hour:Min)

  • Time Remaining (Min:Sec)

  • Time Remaining (Days)

  • Time Since Target (Hour:Min)

  • Time Since Target (Min:Sec)

  • Time Since Target (Days)

These fields are calculated dynamically at runtime and are not stored as persistent values in the database. Because Salesforce reports rely on stored field values, these dynamic fields may appear blank in report results, even though their values may be visible in the UI or retrievable through SOQL.
