Limitation on Reporting on Entitlement and Milestones

When generating reports on Entitlements in Salesforce, it's important to note that not all fields present in the setup will be available in the reports. This limitation arises because certain fields, especially those originating from Setup Objects, are not designed to be included in the standard reporting framework.
In addition, when it comes to milestone reporting, fields like 'Time Remaining' , 'Time Since Target' which are dynamic, may appear blank in reports. Although these values exist in the milestone records and can be retrieved through queries, they don't display in reports due to their real-time, calculated nature.

When it comes to reporting on Entitlement object, there are limitations, particularly when working with fields derived from Setup Objects.

Setup Objects and Reporting Limitations:

Setup Objects in Salesforce are configured through the Setup menu and contain metadata and platform configuration settings that are critical for the system's operation. However, these objects are typically not accessible in standard reports.
  • Entitlement Process: A Setup object that outlines the steps and milestones of an entitlement process, automating and managing the support lifecycle.
  • Reporting Limitation: Fields originating from Setup Objects (e.g., Entitlement Process Id or Name) are not available in standard Salesforce reports. This is because Setup Objects are not part of the reporting framework, which is focused on data objects rather than configuration settings.
 
In the case of Milestone reporting
For instance, fields like Time Remaining(Hour:Min), Time Remaining(Min:Sec), Time Remaining(Days), Time Since target(Hour:Min), Time Since target(Min:Sec), Time Since target(Days) show up as blank in the report. This is because these fields are dynamic and are not static values, which is why they appear blank in the report.
