Meta routinely reviews WhatsApp Message Templates to ensure templates are properly categorized and align with their Message Template Guidelines & Template Categorization.

Templates that are due to be updated will receive an email notification of the scheduled update. To see those templates, you can navigate to WhatsApp Manager > Message Templates > Manage Templates, where it will have an information icon detailing the new category and date of change.

Résolution

To revert any Template Category changes for a WhatsApp Message Template, there are two options to re-align the template used with the desired category.

  1. Create a new template with the desired category and submit it for approval.
  2. Request a category review of your existing template.
