Data 360: Understanding Attribute Selection in Real-Time Segments

Publiseringsdato: Nov 5, 2025
Beskrivelse

When building real-time segments in Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud), the Object filtering is governed by the structure of your Data Graph. Only DMOs included in the Data Graphs are visible and available for use in Real-Time Segments.

These DMOs are further categorized based on how they relate to the Primary Object of the Data Graph:

  • Direct DMOs: Have a 1:1 or a N:1 relationship with the Primary Object.

  • Related DMOs: Have a 1:N relationship with the Primary Object.

This classification directly impacts which attributes can be selected in the Real-Time Segment Builder and how filtering logic can be applied.

Løsning

To determine how DMOs appear and behave in the Real-Time Segment Builder, follow these steps:

  1. Identify the Primary Object in the Data Graph

    • Open your Data Graph configuration and locate the Primary Object (e.g., Individual).

  2. Evaluate DMO Relationships within the DG

    • Examine how each DMO connects to the Primary Object:

      • If the DMO has a 1:1 or N:1 relationship, it is a Direct DMO.

      • If the DMO has a 1:N relationship, it is a Related DMO.

    • Examples:

      • Individual → Account (N:1): Account is a direct DMO.

      • Individual → Household (1:1): Household is a direct DMO.

      • Individual → AccountContact (1:N): AccountContact is a related DMO.

  3. Understand Segment Builder Behavior

    • Direct DMOs: Their attributes are available directly in the filtering pane of the segment builder.

    • Related DMOs: Attributes are grouped separately and may require advanced filtering logic.
