Email Functionality Restrictions for Trial Signups from Salesforce.com

Effective March 4, 2025 for Starter and ProSuite, March 5, 2025 for Service Enterprise Edition and Unlimited Edition, and March 20, 2025 for Sales Enterprise and Unlimited, the email functionality will be disabled for Trial Orgs provisioned through the Salesforce website during the standard 30 day evaluation period.

 

Please note that this will not prevent existing and new customers from signing up for new trials.

Until further notice, Developer Edition (DE) Orgs will have the following limits:

  • Each Org can send emails to a maximum of 50 recipient addresses per day.

  • Each SingleEmailMessage can have up to 15 recipients.

  • With List Email and Mass Email, the maximum number of email recipients per day is 10.

  • The maximum number of workflow email recipients per day is 15.

 

These limits reset at midnight GMT/UTC and include user-to-user emails, single emails, mass emails, workflow emails, and Apex outbound emails.

 

What is affected by this change? 

Trial (including scratch) Org user email features will be unavailable. These features include, but are not limited to: list emails, mass emails, sendEmail, API via SOAP, sendEmail via Apex, Classic Email Author, LEX Email Composer, report emails, workflow email alerts, and community email notifications.

 

Please note that system (e.g., password resets, forgot password, new user welcome) and Chatter emails will not be disabled. 

 

When will the trial emails be turned back on?

We plan to reactivate the trial email functionality after additional fraud prevention measures have been implemented. We will update this advisory when we have established a timeline for doing so.

How can I learn more about email sending features and functionalities in Sales Cloud?

Until trial email sending is re-enabled, please contact our Sales team to request a related feature demonstration. Alternatively, reach out to your existing Salesforce Account Executive or Partner Success Manager to request a demonstration. Exception requests for Trial email feature reenablement based on Orgs provisioned through the Salesforce website will not be considered at this time.  We appreciate your understanding as we pursue a number of fraud prevention enhancements.
