Totals Not Displaying with Tableau Table Viz Extension

Description

When using the "Tableau Table" Viz Extension in a view in Tableau Desktop 2024.3 or a newer version, the Grand Totals or Subtotals do not appear in the view.

 

This is due to a known limitation affecting the "Tableau Table" Viz Extension in Tableau Desktop versions 2024.3 and later.

Résolution

As a workaround, create the table view using standard worksheet functionality instead of the Viz Extension.

  1. On a worksheet, build the desired table using dimensions and measures.
  2. From the top menu, navigate to Analysis > Totals.
  3. Select Show Row Grand Totals, Show Column Grand Totals, or Add All Subtotals as needed.
  4. Add this worksheet directly to the dashboard instead of using the "Tableau Table" Viz Extension.
