Use External browser for Tableau Cloud Authentication from Tableau Desktop

説明

The user is experiencing issues with Tableau Desktop when trying to log in to Tableau Online using Entra ID Conditional Access. The embedded browser in Tableau Desktop is causing authentication problems.

解決策

Windows:

Add the following registry keys (D-Word 32 bit) with value 1 (Hexa decimal)

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Tableau\Tableau 2024.2\Settings\EnableExternalBrowserSignInFromDesktop

MAC:

Run the below command in Terminal (change the version ####.# you are using in the below command):

defaults write com.tableau.Tableau-####.#.plist Settings.EnableExternalBrowserSignInFromDesktop true
