Adding users to Salesforce Voice (formerly Service Cloud Voice) fails if the Salesforce User Alias contains unsupported characters. Amazon Connect only accepts alphanumeric characters, underscores, hyphens, and periods.
To resolve this issue, ensure the Salesforce User's Alias field follows the naming conventions required for Amazon Connect provisioning.
Navigate to Setup and enter Users in the Quick Find box, then select Users.
Click Edit next to the user who cannot be added to the contact center.
Update the Alias field to include only the following supported characters:
a–z
A–Z
0–9
_ (underscore)
- (hyphen)
. (period)
Save the changes.
Attempt to add the user to the Salesforce Voice contact center again.
Note: This naming requirement exists because Amazon Connect automatically provisions usernames using the format: [Salesforce User Alias]@[Salesforce User Record ID]@[Salesforce Org ID].
