Data 360: Applying data retention settings to Data Lake Objects

While the ability to apply data retention settings to DLOs is not yet available within the UI, it can be done manually from the back-end. To request that this be done for a DLO, create a Data 360 support case including the following information.

• The developer name of the DLO (should end in '__dll').
• The desired retention period. Note:
  • The retention policy can only be applied based on days. For example, if you want all records to be dropped after 1 year, the policy can be configured as 365 days. Please share your expected retention period in days, not months or years.
  • The retention period must be greater than or equal to 7. We cannot set the retention to fewer than 7 days (e.g., a retention of 1 day is not supported).
• The name of the DLO's event time field that the retention setting should be applied on.

Note that data retention can only be applied on 'Engagement' type DLOs and cannot be applied on DMOs.

Applying retention settings will not impact your credit consumption.
