Løsning

Manage Built-in Authenticators like Touch ID or Windows Hello when switching devices. Learn steps to remove old settings and register new devices based on availability.

A. You have both devices, and the old device will no longer be used

  1. Log in to Salesforce from your old device.
  2. Click your profile icon and select Settings.
  3. In the Quick Find box, enter Advanced User Details, then select Advanced User Details.
  4. Scroll to the Built-in Authenticators section and click Delete next to the name of the old device.
  5. Log in to Salesforce from your new device and follow the on-screen instructions to register the Built-in Authenticator.

B. You have both devices, and both will be used for now

Depending on your situation, you may need assistance from a System Administrator. You will register the new device first and delete the old one later when it is no longer needed.

  1. Check if you can log in using a verification method other than the Built-in Authenticator (e.g., Salesforce Authenticator).
If you do not have another verification method, ask your System Administrator to generate a Temporary Verification Code.
  2. Log in from your new device using the temporary code or your other verification method.
  3. Navigate to Advanced User Details in your personal settings and in the Built-in Authenticators section, click Add to register the new device.
    • If prompted for identity verification, use the temporary code or your registered verification method.
    • Assign a name that distinguishes the new device from the old one.
  4. When the old device is no longer needed, access Advanced User Details from either device and delete the registration for the old device.

C. You only have the new device (Old device is lost or unavailable)

You cannot migrate the settings yourself.

  1. Contact your System Administrator and request that they remove the Built-in Authenticator registration associated with your old device from your user profile.
  2. After the administrator removes the old registration, log in from your new device and register the Built-in Authenticator as a new verification method.
