How to check Data Category list for each Knowledge on Report

Description

You can see the list by creating a custom report type to combine Knowledge and the related objects on Report.

As “Knowledge (API Name: Knowledge_ka)” object is the parent object of “Knowledge Version(API Name: Knowledge_kav)”, the Primary Object of Custom report type you would need to specify is “Knowledge (API Name: Knowledge_ka)”.

"Title" field of Knowledge record resides in “Knowledge Version(API Name: Knowledge_kav)” and "Data Category" of Knolwedge resides in “Knowledge__DataCategorySelection(API Name: Knowledge__DataCategorySelection).

Résolution

Create the Custom Report Type:
Procedures of creating a custom report type above is as follows.

 

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Report Types then select Report Types.
  2. Click New Custom Report Type. See Create a Custom Report Type.
  3. In the Primary Object dropdown menu, select “Knowledge(API Name: Knowledge_ka)” object.
  4. Enter Display Label,API Name,Description, etc., and click Next button.
  5. Click on (Click to relate another object) and select “Knowledge Version(API Name: Knowledge_kav)” and click “Each "A" record must have at least one related "B" record.".
  6. Click on (Click to relate another object) and select “Knowledge__DataCategorySelection(API Name: Knowledge__DataCategorySelection)” and click “ "B" records may or may not have related "C" records.".
  7. Click Save.


Use the report type created above, you can see the list.

Report Example:

Outline tab:
・Group Rows: Place Title of “Knowledge Version(API Name: Knowledge_kav)” object
Note: As older versions of the same knowledge article are displayed on the report, we recommend you to place “Title” in a Group Row.

・Place “Data Category Group:Developer Name” and “Data Category:Developer Name” of “Knowledge__DataCategorySelection(API Name:Knowledge__DataCategorySelection)” object in Columns.

Filters tab:
・Show Me: All Knowledge
・Archived Date: All Time
