Expected User Information Behavior in Salesforce Authenticator

  • In the Salesforce Authenticator, the service name for a user is set to "Salesforce" by default.
  • Any username changes that occur within Salesforce are not automatically linked or reflected in Salesforce Authenticator and must be updated manually.
  • Authentication continues to work even if the username in Salesforce Authenticator is outdated.

Editing User Information in Salesforce Authenticator

Users must take the following steps to edit the account name and username.

  1. Open the Salesforce Authenticator application.
  2. From the home screen, tap the [>] symbol for the target account.
  3. Tap the pencil icon next to the account name.
  4. Enter the desired changes and tap Save.
