Handling Automations for Cadence Tasks

Описание

Many users encounter a common business need: automatically updating a field on Lead, Contact, or Person Account records once a Cadence task is marked as complete. However, the "Cadence" task subtype is not directly compatible with standard record-triggered flows.

Решение

To address this, customers have several effective options, depending on their specific business requirements:

  • Cadence Autolaunched Flows: Cadence autolaunched flows trigger when a target completes an action step in a cadence, such as an email, custom step, call, LinkedIn, or screen flow step. You create the flow in Flow Builder and then assign it to the cadence step in the Cadence Builder. The flow executes when the cadence step is completed. These flows can include elements that update fields on records.
  • Cadence Step Flows: These are a specific type of screen flow that launches as a step in the cadence, right from the Work Queue or To Do List. Sales reps interact with screen flow cadence steps just like any other action step type. A cadence step flow can also include elements that update fields on records.
  • Change Data Capture (CDC): CDC allows you to receive near real-time changes of Salesforce records. By setting up a CDC event for Task objects, you can capture when a cadence task is completed and then trigger a subsequent automation via an Apex trigger or a platform event-triggered flow.
