Data 360: Understand how Date field from Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement is handled in Data 360 Data stream.

게시 일자: Oct 17, 2025
상세 설명

When you're working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement (MCE) data streams, it’s important to understand how dates are handled and what adjustments will be done automatically by Data 360.

By default, datetime values from MCE are stored in UTC-6 time zone (Central Time). When these values are processed in Data 360 (Formerly Data Cloud), they are automatically converted to UTC time (Coordinated Universal Time). This is done using a formula that adds 6 hours to the datetime values, adjusting them from UTC-6 to UTC.

For more details, you can read about Marketing Cloud Server Time Zone Changes.

솔루션

You will observe that the Date field from the Data Extension is automatically converted to a Formula field in the Data Stream. You can check which column maps to the field by verifying the Field Label of the Data Stream with the column name in the Data Extension.

Time Zone Conversion in Data 360:

  • Storage in UTC-6: All datetime values in MCE are stored in the UTC-6 time zone.
  • Automatic Conversion to UTC: Data 360 automatically converts these datetime values from UTC-6 to UTC, which is the standard time zone used for storing data.
  • Viewing Data in Data Explorer: When you view data in Data Explorer, datetime values will be shown in your time zone (based on your Data 360 settings). For more info, check out View Your Data in Data Explorer.

Note on Query Editor:

  • If you’re using Query Editor to view the data, datetime values will appear in UTC time, because that’s how they are stored in the system.
  • The time zone conversion only happens in Data Explorer, not in Query Editor.
