An overview of how the IsUnique field behaves in the _Click data view.

In the Marketing Cloud Engagement _Click data view, IsUnique is a flag that indicates whether a click is the first click for a specific email send.

 

IsUnique = True (1):
A subscriber clicked any link in a specific email for the first time.

 

IsUnique = False (0):
The same subscriber clicked a link in the same email for the second time or later.
This includes clicking the same link again or clicking a different link.

 

Important Notes:
  • Even when an email contains multiple links, IsUnique becomes True at the timing of the first click on any link. It is not possible to set IsUnique to True per individual link.
  • For emails sent from Journey Builder, a subscriber may re-enter the same journey multiple times. In that case, if the email is not updated, subsequent sends use the same JobID but different BatchIDs. Because the BatchID differs, clicks from the second send onward result in a new IsUnique = True. Therefore, multiple IsUnique = True records can exist for the same JobID.
