Troubleshooting Email Subscription Failures for Salesforce Reports and Dashboards

Data pubblicazione: Sep 9, 2026
Descrizione

Salesforce report and dashboard subscription recipients do not receive the expected scheduled emails. This can occur when the sending user's email address, reply-to address, or the org-wide email address configured for subscriptions has not been verified, or when a DKIM key has not been configured.

Risoluzione

This article explains how to troubleshoot Salesforce report and dashboard email subscription failures, where recipients stop receiving the scheduled emails they signed up for.

Verify the Sending User's Email Addresses

Salesforce report and dashboard subscription emails are sent using the subscribing user's email address and reply-to address. If either address has not been verified, the emails fail silently. Check under Setup > Users > Email. If it shows "Verify", the email needs verification. Also verify the user's Reply-To Email Address, which shows the same "Verify" prompt when unverified.

Configure a DKIM Key

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) signs outbound emails so receiving mail servers trust them instead of flagging them as spam or blocking them outright. If no DKIM key exists for the org, create one and follow Salesforce's DKIM configuration best practices.

Check the Org-Wide Email Address for Report and Dashboard Subscriptions

Some orgs designate a single org-wide email address to send all report and dashboard subscription notifications. Check "Reports and Dashboards Settings" to see if this is configured. If it is, that org-wide email address must also be verified, or subscription emails sent from it will fail.

Confirm the Fix

After completing these steps, unsubscribe and re-subscribe to the affected report or dashboard, then monitor whether emails arrive as expected. If the issue persists, open a new case with Salesforce Support.
