Salesforce Maps Live Mobile Retirement

Salesforce is retiring the Salesforce Maps Live Tracking Mobile feature subscriptions, and we will continue to honor your existing subscription until August 31, 2026.

Salesforce has decided to focus development on products within the Sales Performance Management space.

Salesforce Maps Live Tracking Mobile is a Sales Cloud add-on feature that is also available within Consumer Goods Cloud Retail Execution. It uses the Maps mobile standalone app to track end users’ movements while out in the field to determine distance traveled, validate rep’s whereabouts, and view their locations in near real time. We recommend that you explore some of the options below which are already included in your core Salesforce Maps or Consumer Goods Cloud subscription. 

What does this change mean for me?

The retirement includes all of the following Salesforce Maps Live Tracking Mobile subscriptions: 

• Salesforce Maps Live Tracking - Mobile (Enterprise, Performance, Professional, and Unlimited Editions) 

• Consumer Goods Cloud - Retail Execution (Contractor and Field Sales Editions)

• Retail Execution (Merchandiser and Strategic Sales Editions)

• Consumer Goods Cloud - Sales (Einstein 1 and Agentforce 1 Editions)

If you rely on the subscription to track the distance traveled by reps out in the field, consider utilizing the Mileage Administration feature that is already included within your Salesforce Maps or Consumer Goods Cloud subscription.

If you rely on the subscription to validate the location of employees out in the field, consider utilizing the Check In feature that is already included within your Salesforce Maps or Consumer Goods Cloud subscription.

If you rely on this subscription to view the near real-time locations of employees out in the field, consider a third-party application, such as TripLog.

What action can I take? 

Based on how your organization uses Salesforce Maps Live Tracking Mobile, we recommend implementing one of the replacement options mentioned above.

If your organization decides to end the entirety of their Salesforce Maps or Consumer Goods Cloud subscription at the end of its term, export any geolocation data stored in Maps Live Tracking object records you wish to keep beforehand. Otherwise, that data will remain in your Salesforce org as long as you remain a Salesforce Maps or Consumer Goods Cloud customer.

What happens if I don’t take action?

After August 31, 2026, your reps can no longer generate new geolocation data. 

How do I identify affected users? 

Identify users assigned the Salesforce Maps Live Mobile Tracking permission set license to validate which reps have access to the feature.

Additionally, report on Maps Live Asset Daily Summary records to validate which reps are actively using the feature by inspecting the total distance accumulated.
