Retain Event Monitoring Event Log Files for Up to One Year

Step 1: Enable Extended Retention Period for Event Log Files

Assuming Event Monitoring is already enabled and you want to focus only on retaining Event Monitoring Event Log Files for up to one year, here’s the step-by-step guide:

1. Navigate to Setup | Security | Event Monitoring | Event Monitoring Settings
2. Toggle on the Retain event log files setting

Step 2: To specify how long to retain event log data, set theeventLogRetentionDurationfield in the EventSettingsMetadata API
