Agentforce for Developers is Unavailable in Salesforce Government Cloud

This article provides clarity on the recent changes regarding Agentforce for Developers and its availability in Salesforce Government Cloud environments.

Agentforce for Developers is a free Visual Studio Code extension designed to assist developers working with Salesforce. While this tool leverages Salesforce-managed large language models (LLMs) to generate code and improve developer productivity, it is not a formal Agentforce feature.

Since the LLMs are hosted on Salesforce’s commercial infrastructure, Agentforce for Developers is not currently available within the Government Cloud environment. As part of Salesforce Government Cloud security and compliance commitments, any tools or services relying on LLMs hosted outside Government Cloud’s approved authorization boundary must meet additional security and access requirements before they can be provided to Government Cloud orgs. 

With the Winter ’25 release, Agentforce for Developers unintentionally appeared in the Setup interface in Government Cloud orgs. This was addressed, and the visibility was removed, as the tool had not yet been approved for use in this environment. 

At this time, we are actively reviewing options and requirements for enabling similar capabilities in Government Cloud in the future, and we remain committed to ensuring any functionality offered in this environment adheres to the highest standards of security and compliance.
