Unable to view Restriction Rules in setup

Description

Restriction Rules control record-level access by applying filters to determine which records users can view. This feature may not be visible in Setup if specific permissions are missing or if Salesforce Classic is still enabled. 

Résolution

To access Restriction Rules in Lightning Experience, your user account needs specific permissions and configuration settings. Follow these prerequisites to enable visibility:

 

  • Recommended - Turn off Salesforce Classic
  • Ensure 'Manage Sharing' and 'View Setup and Configuration' permissions are assigned.
  • Check for 'View Restriction and Scoping Rules' permission. If available, ensure ‌permission is assigned.

If the above is completed, and Restriction Rules are still not visible, log a case with Salesforce Support.
