Emails are logged as task records instead of email message records

If emails logged to opportunities from Outlook using the Salesforce button were being logged as task records instead of email message records. This issue caused confusion and inefficiency in tracking opportunities.

Cause: Email signature with embedded images and URLs is interfering with the t.gif association URL.

 

Løsning

1. Switch to the classic (Old) Outlook version to avoid the issue caused by the embedded image in the email signature.

2. Revise the email signature to reference an externally hosted image (via URL) instead of embedding the image. This approach is more compatible with the new Outlook behavior.

 

NOTE: The user needs to explore other ways of constructing his Outlook signature. The embedded image is a likely suspect. They can try referencing an externally hosted image instead directly embedding the image in the signature.
