Custom Fields Deployed via Change Sets Not Added to Existing Custom Report Types

When custom fields are deployed via Change Sets, they are not automatically available in existing Custom Report Types in the target environment.

The automatic inclusion of fields in report types only occurs at the time of the field’s initial creation—not during deployment through Change Sets. As a result, report types in the target org must be updated separately.

Risoluzione

This behavior is expected when deploying custom fields using Change Sets.

To ensure the fields are available in reports:

  • Include the related Custom Report Types along with the custom fields in the Change Set.
  • During Change Set creation, manually add the required Custom Report Types as components.

After deployment, verify that the fields are available in the report type and update the layout if needed.
