Which type of Orgs are eligible for Trial Org Extensions?

Orgs containing "Trial" Status and an Expiration Date are eligible for extensions. To verify eligibility, check the org’s Status and Expiration Date under Setup > Company Information. Trial Orgs are eligible for extensions and can be used for testing, demoing, personal training and development, and for customer trials purposes.

Which types of Orgs are not eligible for Trial Org Extensions?

Following types of Orgs are ineligible for extensions:

  • Developer Org (Status: Free)

  • Production Org (Status: Active)

  • Sandbox Org (Status: Demo)

What happens if my Trial Org expires before the extension is requested?

If your Trial Org reaches its expiration date, the status changes from Trial to Hold. The org will be inaccessible for all of its users. If no extension request is received within 30 days the org will automatically be purged from the system. Please note, purged orgs cannot be retrieved. To avoid losing access, ensure you request an extension before the expiration date. If you have lost access to your Trial Org, you may still request an extension to restore access so long as it is within the 30 day window.

What happens once the Trial Org is extended?

Once the Trial Org Extension request is successfully resolved and the org has been extended, the Expiration Date of the Trial Org will be extended to the date requested by the partner while filing the case, or to the maximum limit of 12 months if no other date is specified. To verify, check the Expiration Date under Setup > Company Information.

How do I request an extension for a Developer Org?

Please be advised that Developer Edition orgs cannot be extended through this process.. If you wish to continue using your DE org, you can reactivate it by logging in. See this link for more information about Developer Org Expiration.
