Experience Cloud: Error 'Maximum Usage Limit for Single Certificate Domain' When Adding Custom Domain

Publiceringsdatum: Sep 12, 2025
Beskrivning

Experience Cloud sites that use the Salesforce Content Delivery Network (CDN) for custom domains are subject to a default organizational limit of 10 custom domains per organization. When this limit is reached, any attempt to add a new custom domain produces the following error:

You've reached the maximum usage limit for the single certificate domain.

This article describes how to resolve the error by either removing unused domains or requesting a limit increase from Salesforce Support.

Lösning

This error occurs when you attempt to add a new domain after the maximum number of registered domains has been reached. Custom domains using the Salesforce CDN have a default limit of 10 per organization. Try the following solutions in order.

Solution 1: Delete Unnecessary Custom Domains

You can free up space to add new domains by reviewing your currently registered domains and deleting any unused ones.
Navigate to Setup > User Interface > Sites and Domains > Domains and delete any unnecessary domains.

Solution 2: Request a Limit Increase from Salesforce Support

If you have no unnecessary domains and all are required, you can request an increase in the limit from Salesforce Support. Create a support case and include the following information along with the error message you received. Request the exact number of total domains needed after the increase.

  1. Organization ID — Open Setup > Company Information to find your 18-character Org ID. Create one case per organization.
  2. System Administrator Confirmation — Confirm whether you are the system administrator representing the organization (Yes/No).
  3. Applicant Username — Provide your username in email address format.
  4. Requested Maximum — State the exact total number of domains needed after the increase.
