Why Backup Data Size Differs from Storage Usage in Salesforce Backup

Julkaisupäivä: Nov 10, 2025
Kuvaus

Salesforce Backup is a data protection product that allows organizations to back up Salesforce data and restore it when needed.

When Salesforce Backup stores your backup data, it uses compression, which means the size shown in Setup > Storage Usage will often differ from the actual backup data size. This article explains why that discrepancy occurs and how to check your current backup size.

Ratkaisu

The primary reason for this discrepancy is data compression. Backup data acquired by Salesforce Backup is stored in a compressed format. This is why you may see a discrepancy between the data size reported on the Storage Usage page in Setup and the actual size of the backup data.

The exact compression rate fluctuates and cannot be provided.

If you need to confirm the current size of your backup data, please contact Salesforce Support and provide your Organization ID.
