How to Enter Country Names in Salesforce Field Service Address Fields for Accurate Geocoding

Data pubblicazione: Jan 8, 2026
Descrizione

Salesforce Field Service uses an internal geocoding service to determine the latitude and longitude of addresses entered on Field Service objects such as Service Appointments and Service Territories. This geocoding service requires that the Country field be entered in English or as an ISO country code. If the Country is entered in a non-English language (for example, '日本' for Japan), geocoding fails and travel time may not be calculated correctly in the Gantt chart.

Risoluzione

To ensure location information is acquired and travel time is calculated on the Gantt chart, enter the "Country" in Field Service address fields using English or a Country Code.
The "Country" field in address fields for Field Service objects, such as Service Appointments and Service Territories, does not support input in non-English languages (e.g., Japanese or Arabic). If a country name is entered in a local language (e.g., "日本"), geolocation fails, and travel time may not be calculated on the Gantt chart.

Correct Input Examples:

  • For an address in Japan: "JAPAN" or "JP"
  • For an address in Korea: "KOREA" or "KR"

If location information is still not acquired after updating the Country name to English, please contact Salesforce Support.

Why English is Required

The geocoding service used by Salesforce Field Service is not the same as Google Maps. It is an internal geocoding engine that is optimized for English and ISO country codes. Salesforce continuously updates its geocoding data, but accuracy is not guaranteed for all addresses.

What to Do If Geocoding Still Fails After Correction

If location information is not retrieved after updating the Country to English, please contact Salesforce Support.
