Salesforce Field Service — How to Remove Search Filters from the Appointment List in the Dispatcher Console

Data pubblicazione: Sep 4, 2025
Descrizione

In the Salesforce Field Service Dispatcher Console, the appointment list includes a dropdown menu where dispatchers can filter service appointments by status categories such as To Do, Scheduled, Unscheduled, In Jeopardy, and others.
Each filter option in this dropdown is controlled by a specific Salesforce custom permission. Administrators can hide individual filter options from the dropdown by removing the corresponding custom permission from the permission set or profile assigned to the user.

How Search Filters Are Controlled

Each item in the appointment list filter dropdown corresponds to a Field Service custom permission in the FSL (Field Service Lightning) package. When a user does not have a given custom permission assigned, the associated filter option is hidden from their view in the Dispatcher Console dropdown.
Note: The "All Service Appointments" and "Recently Viewed" filter options cannot be hidden — they are always visible to all users regardless of custom permission assignments.

Filter-to-Permission Mapping

The following table shows each search filter and its corresponding custom permission name:

Steps to Remove a Search Filter from the Dropdown

To hide a specific filter option from a user's appointment list dropdown:

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup.
  2. Go to Permission Sets (or Profiles, depending on your org's access model).
  3. Open the permission set or profile assigned to the user whose filter options you want to modify.
  4. Click Custom Permissions.
  5. Locate the custom permission corresponding to the filter you want to hide (use the mapping table above).
  6. Remove the custom permission by clicking the Remove link or unchecking it from the list.
  7. Save your changes.
  8. Have the user refresh the Dispatcher Console — the filter option will no longer appear in their dropdown.

Note: Changes to permission sets apply immediately. The user does not need to log out and back in unless the browser is caching an old session.
