This article explains the roles automatically created per Account when enabling Experience Cloud external users, covering creation timing, hierarchy, and naming conventions.

It applies when the "Minimize the number of roles created, which improves performance by cutting down processing loads" setting is disabled under Sharing Settings, or when enabling a second external user on an Account if the setting is enabled.

Lösning

External user roles (Customer or Partner) on an account are automatically created based on Digital Experiences settings when the first external user is enabled for an account. 
These roles cannot be manually created or renamed after creation.

  • Timing of Role Creation
    Roles are created when the first external user (customer or partner) is enabled for each account.
  • Number of Roles (Hierarchy)
    The number of hierarchical levels (1–3) is determined by the "Number of customer roles" or "Number of partner roles" settings under Setup | Digital Experiences | Settings.

 

Roles are generated using the following naming convention:

  • Customer: <Account Name (*1)> Customer <Role Hierarchy (*2)>
  • Partner: <Account Name (*1)> Partner <Role Hierarchy (*2)>

    (*1) Displays the value from the [Account Name] field.
    (*2) Depending on the number of roles configured, the following roles are created:
    • 1: User
    • 2: User, Manager
    • 3: User, Manager, Executive

Supplemental Information Example: 
If the number of partner roles is set to "3" for an account named "XXX Company," the following three roles will be created:

  • XXX Company Partner Executive
  • XXX Company Partner Manager
  • XXX Company Partner User
