[SFS] Display email replies to Work Orders

Email replies sent from Salesforce Field Service (SFS) Work Orders do not display on the Work Order record. Unlike Cases, which support the Email-to-Case feature to automatically thread inbound email replies to case records, Work Orders do not have a native equivalent functionality in Salesforce Field Service (SFS).

Løsning

Displaying email replies on Salesforce Field Service (SFS) Work Orders is not natively supported. This functionality is exclusive to the Case object, which uses the Email-to-Case feature to automatically thread inbound email replies to case records. Work Orders are not supported by Email-to-Case.

As a workaround, consider one of the following approaches:

  1. Convert the Work Order interaction to a related Case record and manage communications via the Case's Email-to-Case thread.
  2. Use a custom Apex trigger or Flow to capture outbound email activity and log it as a related Task on the Work Order.
  3. Leverage Salesforce Inbox or a third-party email integration app from AppExchange to track email communications against Work Order records.
