How to Delete Images or Video Recordings in Visual Remote Assistant

This article explains the procedure for deleting images or video recordings captured during Visual Remote Assistant sessions using the "Delete Images or Video Recordings Demo Flow."

Images or video recordings created during Visual Remote Assistant sessions cannot be deleted using standard components.

 

To delete these items, you must enable the "Delete Images or Video Recordings Demo Flow" screen flow and add it to the Case record page using a Quick Action or the Flow component. This flow allows you to delete specific images or video recordings based on Contact details and the session date range.

 

Flow Operation Steps

 

Input Screen

Launch the screen flow added to the Case record page and enter the following required information:

 

  • Contact Details: Contact First Name, Last Name, and Email.

  • Session Date Range: The Start Date and End Date (Date/Time) of the session you wish to search.

 

Deletion Item Selection Screen

Select whether to delete images or video recordings.

 

  • Image Deletion Option: A list of images matching the criteria is displayed. Select the images you want to delete and execute the action. A success message will appear. The images will be permanently deleted within 48 hours.

  • Video Recording Deletion Option: A list of video recordings matching the criteria is displayed. Select the recordings you want to delete and execute the action. A success message will appear. The video recordings will be permanently deleted within 48 hours.

Supplementary Information

If the "Visual History" component is placed on the Case record, the Play button for deleted videos will be grayed out, and the video cannot be played after the deletion process is complete.

 

The records targeted for deletion have a status field that allows you to check the processing status (if these fields are not visible, please add them to the page layout):

 

  • Visual Remote Assistant Recording record: Recording Status field

  • Visual Remote Assistant Reports Images record: Image Status field

 

Status Values:

  • Active: Can be deleted.

  • Pending Deletion: Deletion is in progress.

  • Deleted: Has been deleted.

  • Error State: Cannot be accessed or deleted.
