How to View a List of Reports Created with a Specific Report Type

An admin wants to find all reports built on the 'Opportunities with Products' report type before deleting it. This article shows how to create a meta-report that lists all reports using a given type.

Løsning

First, create a custom report type to list reports, and then create a report using that custom report type.

 Creating a Custom Report Type

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner and open Setup.

  2. Enter "Report Types" in the Quick Find box and click Report Types.

  3. Click New Custom Report Type.

  4. Set the following fields and click Next:

    • Primary Object: Reports

    • Report Type Label: Any (e.g., Report List)

    • Report Type Name: Any (e.g., Report_List)

    • Description: Any

    • Store in Category: Any (e.g., Administrative Reports)

    • Deployment Status: Deployed

  5. Click Save without making any changes on the "Step ② . Define Report Records Set" screen.

 Creating a Report

  1. Click the Reports tab and click New Report.

  2. Select the custom report type created in Step 1 and click Start Report.

  3. On the Filters tab, set the following conditions:

    • Field: Report Type

    • Operator: equals

    • Value: The name of the report type you want to check

  4. Click the Outline tab.

  5. In Group Rows, select Report Type.

  6. In Columns, use Add column... to search for and add fields you want to display, such as Report Name and Created By.

  7. Click Save & Run in the upper right corner.


 Important Notes :
The report created using the above steps will only show reports that you have access to.
Please note that reports saved in Private folders by other users will not be displayed.
