How To: Request an API Limit Increase

公開日: Apr 6, 2026
タスク

Successfully submit a detailed request to Salesforce Support to increase your organization's API call limit for emergency situations.

ステップ
  1. Find Your Current API Limit and Org ID: You must know your current usage and limit before asking for an increase.

    • Click the gear icon and select Setup.

    • In the Quick Find box, type and click System Overview (or Company Information).

    • Look for the row labeled API REQUESTS (LAST 24 HOURS).

    • Write down your Organization ID and the Current Limit displayed.

  2. Start a Case with Salesforce Support: You must submit a case in Salesforce Help to request this increase.

    • Go to Salesforce Help.

    • Search for your topic (e.g., Feature Request or Limit Increase).

    • Follow the prompts for case creation.

  3. Provide Required Information in the Case Details: The Support Engineer needs four pieces of information in the case description. If you skip any, the case will be delayed!

    • Your Organization ID: (Found in Step 1).

    • Current API Limit: (Found in Step 1).

    • Requested New API Limit: Clearly state the new, specific limit you are requesting (e.g., 1,500,000 calls per day).

    • Business Justification: Explain why you need the increase (e.g., We are integrating a new system, We are migrating historical data, or We are experiencing high traffic from a third-party app).

  4. Await Confirmation: Once the case is submitted, a Support Engineer will review your request. They may ask you more questions about your business reason before making the change. You will receive an email once the new limit has been set.
