How to Retrieve Log Files Using the Event Log File Browser

Follow these steps to download event log files:

1. Go to:
   Setup → Security → Event Monitoring → Event Log File Browser
2. Select the appropriate:
   Start Date
   End Date
   Check the Internal option if needed
3. Choose the relevant Event Type(s) based on your use case:
   API Event
   Bulk API Event
   Bulk API 2.0 Event
4. Click the dropdown menu and select:
   Download as CSV File

Which Event Type Should You Use?

The correct event type depends on your Data Loader configuration:

• If “Use SOAP API” is enabled → use API Event
• If “Use Bulk API” is enabled → use Bulk API Event
• If “Use Bulk API 2.0” is enabled → use Bulk API 2.0 Event

Important Note

• The API Event log includes entries where the CLIENT_NAME field contains "DataLoader"
• The Bulk API and Bulk API 2.0 logs do not include "DataLoader" in the CLIENT_NAME field
