Send Custom Notification Action to Public Group

Beschreibung

When using the Flow Core Action: Send Custom Notification and selecting a Public Group as notification recipients only members added directly to the public group are expected to receive notifications.

Lösung

When 'Grant Access Using Hierarchies' is enabled on a Public Group, users who are part of the group through role hierarchy inheritance (rather than being direct group members) are excluded from custom notification delivery. This is expected behavior in Salesforce. The following role-hierarchy-based membership reasons are excluded from receiving notifications:

  • Manager of Group Member — the user manages someone who is a direct group member but is not a member themselves;
  • Manager of Queue Member — the user manages a queue member but is not directly in the group;
  • Manager of Role — the user holds a manager role above a group member's role;
  • Manager of Territory / User Role Manager of Territory — the user manages a territory that a group member belongs to.
  • To ensure all intended recipients receive the notification, add them as direct members of the Public Group rather than relying on hierarchy-based membership.
