Error When Replacing Picklist Values Using Label in Salesforce

An error occurs when entering the Label instead of the API Name during picklist replacement. This article explains how to use the API Name to replace values in Sales.

When replacing a picklist value in Salesforce, the replacement screen requires the API Name of the value not the Label. Entering the Label causes an error because the system performs an exact match against API Names only.

Lösung

You must enter the API Name, not the Label, in the replacement screen. Follow these steps to identify the API Name and complete the replacement.

  1. Go to Setup > Object Manager and select the object containing the field to be replaced.

  2. Click  Fields & Relationships and select the target picklist field.

  3. Copy the API Name of the target value displayed in the Values section.

  4. Click Replace .

  5. Paste the API Name copied in step 3 into Exact Value Changing From.

  6. Select the new value in  Select Value Changing To .

  7. Click Replace.
