Salesforce Field Service - Insufficient Privileges: Connect API Not Enabled for This User Type Error in Scheduled Dispatch Jobs

Date de publication: May 11, 2026
Description

Overview

Users may encounter the error "Insufficient Privileges: The Connect API is not enabled for this user type" when the TR001_ServiceUtils process executes the asynchSharingAfterUpdateAndMentionUser method in Salesforce Field Service.
This error occurs because the "Mention assigned user when the Service Appointment is dispatched" setting in Salesforce Field Service requires Connect API access. Connect API (Salesforce's REST API for Chatter and social features) is not available for all user types. User types that may not have Connect API access include certain portal users, community users, or users without Chatter enabled in their profile.
This error can prevent maintenance plans and scheduled dispatch jobs from executing correctly in Salesforce Field Service.

Résolution

To resolve the Connect API privilege error in Salesforce Field Service scheduled dispatch jobs, disable the automatic mention feature by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Field Service Settings > Dispatch > Scheduled Jobs.
  2. Disable the checkbox "Mention assigned user when the Service Appointment is dispatched".
  3. Save the settings.
  4. Re-test the maintenance plan or scheduled job to confirm the error no longer occurs.
