Heroku Data Bridge Retirement

Data pubblicazione: Mar 17, 2026
Descrizione

Salesforce is retiring the Heroku Data Bridge product, which supports the legacy Privacy Center Retention Store. This product is no longer renewable as of October 1, 2025, though existing subscriptions will continue to be honored until your contract end date.

What does this change mean for me?

If your subscription expires before migrating to the new Privacy Center (including removing legacy Heroku components), you’ll need to decide how to manage your legacy account:

  1. Migrate to the New Version of Privacy Center: Maintain your data retention capabilities by upgrading to the new version of Privacy Center. Please reach out to your account team to plan your migration and product upgrade.

  2. Convert to a Heroku Direct Account: Transition to a Heroku Direct Account (with monthly usage-based billing) to retain your existing data. About five days after your contract expires, team administrators will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed with the account conversion and add a credit card to the account.

  3. End Subscription: Choose not to migrate or convert. In this case, your legacy subscription will expire, and all associated retention data will be permanently deleted per accordance with our Trust and Compliance documentation.

What action can I take?

If you currently hold data in the legacy Privacy Center's Heroku-based retention store, you'll need to create a data migration plan:

  1. Do It Yourself: Use the Migration App provided for Privacy Center customers to migrate data from the legacy Heroku-based retention store to the new Hyperforce-based store.

  2. Do It With Help: Engage Salesforce Services or our premier Privacy Center partner, Cervello, for assistance with complex migrations.

  3. Don’t Do It: You have two options if you choose not to migrate::

    1. Start Fresh: Begin using the new Hyperforce-based retention store without migrating existing data. Your legacy data will be retired.

    2. Export for Records: Export your data from the legacy Heroku-based retention store using the Heroku CLI. Data exported to CSV can’t be imported into the new Privacy Center and is intended for archival or internal record-keeping only.

Refer to the Migration Planner for detailed instructions on the above options. Contact your account team with any questions—they are ready to assist you.

What happens if I don’t take action?

If your contract expires before you migrate to the new Privacy Center (including removing any legacy Heroku components), you’ll have 22 days after the contract end date to choose whether to convert your Heroku account or allow your legacy retention data to be deleted.

Important:

If you choose to convert to a Heroku Direct Account, you will be asked to provide credit card details within 5 days of contract expiration. Failure to add credit card details after the account converts to a Heroku Direct Account will result in the account being suspended. Ultimately, the data associated with the suspended account will be deleted in accordance with our Trust and Compliance documentation.

If you no longer need the Heroku Direct Account, it can be closed by following these instructions.

Where can I get support?

For all Heroku Direct Account inquiries (credit card, billing, or account closure), open a support case with Heroku.
