"Account cannot be converted to person-account" Error When Converting Business Account to Person Account

Cause : The error "Account cannot be converted to person-account" when attempting to convert a Business Account to a Person Account may occur if one of the following conditions is not met:

  • The Business Account has multiple related Contacts.

  • The Business Account has no related Contacts.

  • The Owner of the Business Account and the related Contact are not the same.

  • (If Multi-Currency is enabled) The Currency of the Business Account and the related Contact are not the same.

  • The Parent Account field on the Business Account is not blank, or the Account is specified as a Parent Account for another Business Account.

  • The Manager field on the Contact is not blank, or the Contact is specified as a Manager for another Contact.

Lösung

To resolve this issue, confirm that the target Business Account and its single related Contact meet all of the following conditions:

  • The Business Account must have exactly one related Contact.

  • The Owner of the Business Account and the Contact must be the same.

  • (If Multi-Currency is enabled) The Currency of the Business Account and the Contact must be the same.

  • The Parent Account field on the Business Account must be blank, and the Account must not be specified as a Parent Account for other Business Accounts.

  • The Manager field on the Contact must be blank, and the Contact must not be specified as a Manager for other Contacts.

For example, a Salesforce admin tries to convert a Business Account that has two related Contacts into a Person Account and receives this error. The fix is to merge or delete the extra Contact first, leaving exactly one related Contact before attempting conversion
