When importing a keystore file into Salesforce, some users report receiving the following error message:
Data Not Available
The data you were trying to access could not be found. It may be due to another user deleting the data or a system error.
This error can appear misleading since the underlying cause is not shown.
Even when following standard certificate import guidelines (valid alias names, correct password, and proper file type), the operation may fail due to Identity Provider not being enabled in the org.
To resolve this issue, ensure Identity Provider (IdP) is enabled before importing the keystore certificate.
Navigate to Setup → Identity Provider.
Click Enable Identity Provider.
If prompted, select an existing certificate or create a new self-signed certificate.
Click Save.
Go to Setup → Certificate and Key Management.
Click Import from Keystore.
Upload your keystore file (.JKS or .P12).
Enter the keystore password.
Click Save.
The import should now complete successfully and the certificate will appear under Certificate and Key Management.
