The user encountered an issue with installing the MariaDB driver for Tableau Desktop on macOS ARM64. Despite following Tableau's driver installation instructions and confirming the installation of iODBC Manager and MySQL ODBC connector, Tableau Desktop displayed an error indicating that the driver needed to be installed.
Løsning

1. Verify the file permissions for the odbcinst.ini file. Ensure that the current OS user account has Read/Write permissions on this file. If the file is set to Read-only, the ODBC driver will not install or update correctly.
2. Manually update the driver configuration by opening the odbcinst.ini file using a text editor with the correct permissions. Copy the required ODBC driver entries into this file, save the changes, and confirm that the file retains the correct Read/Write permission settings.
3. Download and install the MySQL ODBC driver version 8.0.33, which is compatible with macOS ARM64. Reboot the machine if necessary.
