Salesforce Activation & Limit Change Requirements: Admin Approval and Sandbox Verification

Learn the requirements for requesting feature activations or limit increases from Salesforce Support, including System Administrator approval and Sandbox testing. If these requirements are missing, Support Engineers may ask for System Administrator approval or prior verification in a Sandbox.

To ensure smooth activation, please understand the following context and follow the steps below when making a request.

  • System Administrator Approval: Since configuration changes can affect the entire organization, requests must come from the System Administrator or clearly indicate their approval. 

  • One Case Per Org: To maintain accurate work management, one Case should generally be created per organization, even for requests involving multiple organizations (e.g., Sandbox and Production).

  • Prior Verification in Sandbox: Because the impact of activation depends on your implementation and usage, it is recommended to first activate and verify in a Sandbox before requesting application to the production organization.

Løsning

When submitting an Activation or Limit Change request to the Support team, please include the following information in your Case.

  1. Identify the Target Organization Clearly state the Organization ID of the target organization. If the requester is not a System Administrator, provide the name of the System Administrator who approved the request. Depending on the request, a separate written document may be required.

  2. Requests for Multiple Organizations If requesting activation for multiple organizations (e.g., Production and Sandbox, or multiple Sandboxes), state that you grant Salesforce Support permission to raise child Cases for the work.

  3. Phased Activation Request activation for a Sandbox first. After confirming operation in the Sandbox, request activation for the production organization with the results.

  4. Provide Reference Information Provide the title or URL of the Salesforce Help or Knowledge articles referenced as the basis for the activation request.
