This article explains the limitation where new custom fields cannot be added because the limit per object has been reached.
Salesforce Support cannot increase this limit; upgrading the edition is required.
Each Salesforce edition has a defined limit on the number of custom fields that can be created per object.
This error occurs because the organization has reached the maximum number allowed for the current edition.
Salesforce Support cannot increase the limit on the number of custom fields.
The only way to increase the limit and create additional custom fields is to upgrade to a higher edition that allows for more custom fields.
