Tableau Cloud: How to Register Multiple Salesforce Authenticators for a Single User

Register the first device using the Salesforce Authenticator method. For any additional devices, use the One-Time Password Generator method.

Note: When verifying via the One-Time Password Generator method, you must manually enter the 6-digit Verification Code displayed in the app. The push notification feature (one-tap approval) is not available for devices registered this way.

1. First, follow the steps in Register for multi-factor authentication to register Salesforce Authenticator on your primary device.
2. Follow the steps in Manage verification methods to open the Manage Your Verification Methods page in Tableau Cloud, and select One-Time Password Generator.
3. When the QR code appears, open the Salesforce Authenticator app on your additional device. Tap Add an Account and select Scan QR Code.
4. Scan the QR code displayed on your desktop screen. The account will be added to the app. Accounts that use One-Time Password Generator don't include the Einstein icon on the Salesforce Authenticator application.
5. Enter the numeric verification code displayed in the app into the Verification Code field on your desktop screen.
6. Click Done to complete the setup.

Next time you log in, if multiple verification methods are registered, you can switch devices by selecting the Choose Another Verification Method link on the MFA verification screen.
