Description

When Shield Platform Encryption is enabled on the Name field of an object referenced by the Related To (WhatId) field, filtering an Event list view by that field returns no results. This is expected product behavior due to filtering limitations on encrypted fields.

Cause

This issue occurs when Shield Platform Encryption is enabled on the Name field of the object referenced by the "Related To" field (WhatId). Record retrieval fails due to filtering limitations on encrypted fields. This is the expected behavior of the product.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Disable the encryption setting on the Name field of the object referenced by the "Related To" field (WhatId).
  2. Verify that the list view search functions correctly after disabling encryption.
