Unable to Change User Account Mapping Field in Salesforce for Slack App

Veröffentlichungsdatum: Dec 11, 2025
Beschreibung
The User Account Mapping field determines how Salesforce matches Slack users to Salesforce users (by Email, Federation ID, or Username). This field is set during the initial connection and cannot be modified afterward from the Setup menu.
For example, you initially mapped users by Email, but your organization uses Federation IDs for authentication. To switch the mapping field from Email to Federation ID, you must disconnect and reconnect the integration.

Lösung
The User Account Mapping field is locked after initial connection setup to maintain data integrity. When you disconnect and reconnect, you can select a different mapping field during the connection setup wizard. Note that disconnecting will temporarily disable Slack notifications and integrations until you reconnect.

To change the User Account Mapping field:

1. In Salesforce Setup, navigate to Slack | Manage Slack Connection.
2. Click 'Disconnect' and confirm.
3. Click 'Connect to Slack' to start a new connection.
4. During setup, select your desired User Account Mapping field (Email, Federation ID, or Username).
5. Complete the connection process.
