Unable to Uninstall the Visual Remote Assistant (VRA) Package

Data pubblicazione: Dec 11, 2025
Descrizione

This article explains how to uninstall the Visual Remote Assistant (VRA) managed package and the optional VRA Scheduling managed package from a Salesforce org. Before uninstalling either package, you must first remove all dependent configurations — including permission set assignments, active flows, and process builders — that reference the package components. Failure to remove these dependencies will result in an error: 'Cannot uninstall package'.

Risoluzione

Follow the steps below in order. The VRA Scheduling package, if installed, must be uninstalled first before removing the main VRA package.

## Step 1 — Uninstall the VRA Scheduling Package (If Installed)

If the VRA Scheduling package is installed, it must be uninstalled before the VRA package. First, perform the following configuration removals:

  • Permission Sets: Remove all user assignments for the following permission sets:

    • VRA Scheduling

    • VRA Experiences Sites

  • Flows: Deactivate the following flows:

    • VRA_Send_Reminder_Notification_to_Assigned_Resource

    • VRA_Manage_Deleted_SAs

After removing these configurations, uninstall the VRA Scheduling package.

## Step 2 — Uninstall the Visual Remote Assistant (VRA) Package

Next, remove the configurations for the Visual Remote Assistant (VRA) package.

  • Permission Sets: Remove all user assignments for the following permission sets:

    • RemoteExpert

    • VRA Community End User

  • Flows: Deactivate the following flows:

    • VRA_Self_Service_Image_Notification

    • VRA_Session_Request_Channel

    • Send_Session_Invite

    • VRA_End_User_Session_Request

    • VRA_Retrieve_Session_Recording_Screen_Flow

    • Retrieve_by_specific_Reference_ID

    • Delete_Images_Flow

    • VRA_Trigger_Retrieval_of_Session_Recording

  • Process Builder: Deactivate the following process:

    • Visual Remote Assistant Reports

After removing these configurations, proceed with the uninstallation.

## Step 3 — Resolving Specific Error Messages During Uninstallation

If you encounter the error "Cannot uninstall package," click the link in the error message to view the dependencies and resolve them as follows:

  • "This permission set is assigned to one or more users..." Remove all user assignments from the specified permission set.

  • "The flow is active..." Deactivate the specified flow.

  • "This component is used elsewhere... (Remove from Community)" Open the relevant site in Experience Builder and remove the referenced component.

  • "An external component refers to a component in this package..."

    • Template Setting MetaData for Live Agent [tspa]: Delete it.

    • Flow Definition: Delete it.

    • Service Channel: Delete it.

    • Lightning Page: Edit the page in the Lightning App Builder and remove the component.

    • Utility Bar: This cannot be removed via the Lightning App Builder. Follow these steps to remove it:

      1. Go to Setup > App Manager.

      2. Click the dropdown arrow ▼ next to the relevant app (e.g., LightningSales) and select Edit.

      3. Click Utility Items (Desktop Only).

      4. Remove the referenced VRA component.
