An Einstein Activity Capture (EAC) user encounters an error when trying to manage an event's association via the Outlook Integration add-in within the Outlook desktop client. The error states: "To manage this record's associations, open the record in Lightning Experience or in Outlook on the web."

Steps to reproduce this issue:

  1. Open a saved event in the Outlook desktop client.
  2. Open the Outlook Integration add-in.
  3. Observe the error message above.
Solución

This article explains why this error occurs and how to manage event associations in the Outlook Integration add-in.

Why This Happens

This behavior is expected due to a design limitation in Classic Outlook. The New Outlook client is not affected.

How to Manage Associations

To manage associations, use either New Outlook or Outlook on the Web (OWA) instead of Classic Outlook desktop.
